April “Pink” moon rising over Kitimat

The April “Pink” moon begins to rise over the mountains of Kitimat, April 1 2026 (Robin Rowland)

It was uncertain whether I could shoot the April “Pink” full moon on April 1. For most of the day and early evening there was cloud cover, ranging from Stratocumulus to Cumulus, I had an evening meeting and as I left the meeting around 2045, looked up saw a lot of cloud cover. I had hoped to drive down to the water front but decided to head home.

As I turned into my street, I could see the faint white glow of the moon rising above the mountains.

I parked in my driveway, retrieved my camera from the car. There was a break in the clouds, so I could capture the moon rise from home.
