Heritage crock-pot fuels the World Series

This is really a story about my crock-pot. A “vintage” Sunbeam Heritage Pot slow cooker.
On Wednesday night, I planned take a photo as I sat down for my dinner (something I seldom do, not usually given to posting food pix)when Blue Jay Dave Schneider opened Game 5 of the World Series with a solo home run on the first pitch.

Here in the Pacific Time Zone, the World Series telecast began at 5 pm. The last thing I wanted to do is to be going back and forth to the kitchen cooking while the game was on.
So each game night I have turned to that Sunbeam Heritage Pot, starting dinner around 1 pm.
In 1977, when I moved out of the house for the last time (I had previously been away at university) one of the items my mother gave me was that slow cooker. That means the pot is more than 48 years old. It still works from a time when appliances were actually made to last. Just three settings, low, high and auto, no digital.

You can still get recipes for slow cookers on the magazine racks of supermarkets. For Game 5 it was delicious chicken and mushrooms in cream sauce. Delicious.
And I see online that there are people still wanting to buy the Heritage Pot. I am sticking with mine.
